“…and if you walk to the end of the block, there sits a Starbucks. And directly across the street — in the exact same building as that Starbucks — there is… another Starbucks. There is a Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks! And ladies and gentlemen, THAT is the end of the universe.” – Lewis Black

Ember Leo writes: ” I don’t know if you are still collecting this information, but in the San Francisco Bay Area, it’s not at all uncommon for two, even three Starbucks to all be in the same strip mall. The usual combination is that there will be a Starbucks free-standing, and a grocery store (either Albertsons, or Safeway) with a Starbucks inside. I can think of several locations where this is the case, off the top of my head, it’s so common. Tully and Central Expressway in San Jose, Sequoia Station on El Camino in Redwood City, and Loheman’s Plaza on Homestead in Sunnyvale, to name a few. What is slightly less common is when there is also a Barnes & Noble in the same shopping center as such a pairing, and then there will
also be a Starbucks inside the Barnes & Noble. The only concrete example I can think of is on San Pablo and Carlson in El Cerrito, but I know there are others.”
