May 23 – Morning Safari Drive

May 23, 2009

We woke up at 5:30 AM for our 6 AM morning safari.  This safari was another driving safari that was four hours long with a half hour break in the middle.  We had some breakfast at the camp restaurant before leaving.

The safari was great.  We saw more warthogs this time.  I took advantage of the daylight and took lots of pictures.

When we returned from the safari, we booked a walking safari for the next morning with the two girls from England we met.   When we got back to camp, we saw that there were monkeys hanging out at camps adjacent to ours.

We spent the rest of the day hanging out.  It was really hot this day.  They say Mfuwe is the warmest place in Zambia.  John and I took naps.  After we woke up, we went swimming at the on site pool.  It was fun; they had a water slide.  I also picked up stamps and postcards at the gift shop.  Postage to the USA was 50 cents.  We ate dinner and then returned to camp where we continued to relax.  We went to bed early because we had to be up early again, this time for our morning walk safari.
